Our online Associate of Arts in Child Development degree provides foundational coursework in early child development, education, and sociocultural contexts. Our child development program equips students to provide age-appropriate, Christ-centered care and nurturing to young children (birth through third grade). Upon completion, students are eligible to apply for an Early Education Teacher Certificate from the Association of Christian Schools International (ACSI).


1. Articulate a basic knowledge of the proper growth and development principles as they apply to young children from birth through age 8.

2. Plan developmentally-appropriate activities and environments to promote young children’s cognitive development.

3. Recognize the needs expressed by families with young children who have diverse ethnic and socioeconomic backgrounds.
